  • Job Description: ECCE Creative Content Development Specialist

    • Team/Programme: USAID/LEGO Foundation Childhood Development Activity
    • Location: Ethiopia Country Office, Addis Ababa
    • Grade: 2A
    • Type of Contract: National
    • Child Safeguarding: Level 2
      • Contact with children and/or young people either frequently or intensively due to work in country programs, visiting country programs, or implementing the police checking/vetting process.
  • Role Purpose:
    • Member of the USAID/LEGO Foundation Childhood Development Activity team.
    • Implementing the project in collaboration with 7 local partners targeting crisis-affected pre-primary school age children in five regions of Ethiopia.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Technical Leadership:
      • Map and adapt existing audio, video, and print content on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).
      • Develop content for ECCE video lessons, dramas, stories, and songs.
      • Collaborate with partners to ensure guideline adherence for using audio and print productions in ECCE centers.
    • Ensuring Programme Quality (Design & Implementation):
      • Scope and sequence tailored audio and print productions on ECCE.
      • Provide capacity building training to partners on using audio and print productions.
      • Monitor and support ECCE teachers and facilitators in using audio materials for playful learning.
    • Networking & External Engagement:
      • Work with district ECCE actors to collect and adapt stories, dialogues, songs for audio and print production.
      • Participate in district-level ECCE technical working groups.
      • Collaborate with community leaders and organizations for content development.

  • Job Requirements:

    • Education:
      • BA degree in Early Childhood Care and Education, Creative Arts, Theatrical Arts, literature, Journalism, or related social sciences.
      • Training in educational audio and video script writing and content development.
    • Experience and Skills:
      • At least 7 years of experience in developing content for audio, video, and print lessons targeting children.
      • Experience in preparing play scripts, songs, dramas, and local stories for young children’s development.
      • Awareness of regional contexts, especially in conflict and disaster-affected areas of Ethiopia.
      • Proficient in English and relevant local languages.
