Job Summary

The General Manager for Real Estate will be responsible for leading the business unit by developing and implementing strategic plans, managing real estate projects, and ensuring that sales targets are met. The role also involves building sustainable partnerships, monitoring performance, and ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality real estate products and services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the business unit strategy in alignment with the company’s overall strategic direction.
  • Partner Relations: Lead the selection and management of architects, contractors, and other partners, fostering long-term, sustainable relationships.
  • Project Performance: Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of real estate projects and services.
  • Process Development: Lead the creation and implementation of effective property and asset management processes, policies, and work procedures.
  • Sales Leadership: Drive the sales of real estate products and attract corporate customers, ensuring sales targets are met.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of real estate products, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Industry Expertise: Stay informed on real estate industry trends and contribute to a deeper understanding of the business.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work with senior management to identify opportunities, formulate strategies, and drive business growth.
  • KPI Management: Lead workshops to define business KPIs and implement tracking systems within the performance management framework.

Generic Duties

  • Develop and monitor the business unit’s work plan and budget.
  • Identify and plan for the human resource needs of the business unit.
  • Establish and review policies and procedures for the business unit.
  • Provide performance feedback and coaching for managers and staff.
  • Represent the business unit in external relationships and in departmental decision-making processes.
  • Manage disciplinary issues within the business unit.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, with at least 6 years in a leadership role within a real estate firm.
    • Solid experience in Real Estate Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and Administration.
    • Experience overseeing restructuring efforts is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Fluency in both Amharic and English (written and verbal).
