Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and monitor the investigation and resolution of complex and recurring problems in core banking system.
- Manage the customization, upgrade, parameterization of the core banking system based on the business requirement.
- Develop new functionalities and features on the core Banking based on the business requirement.
- Prepare technical and functional specifications for new applications and software acquisition process; and participate on the bid evaluation, implementation and testing process
- Properly implement version tracking system, changes management and configuration management for the core Banking for faster recovery and service continuity.
- Review and monitor the proper configuration, optimization and backing up of applications, patches, and scripts on an on-going basis with proper versioning. .
- Analyse, and recommend improvements to the Information Technology service management frameworks and implement in relation to application support as required;
- Review the prepared test areas and ensure that proper testing is conducted before releases/ upgrades are applied on production; and the proper change and release management procedures are followed in deploying releases/upgrades on production.
- Define user roles on the core Banking based on lowest risk level and higher security principles.
- Ensure end to end support are provided to users in core banking and axillary applications
- Handle the communication with vendors of Core Banking related services in order to maximize their value in technical support, change management and upgrade of systems.
- Manager Core Application support
- Develop documents like user manuals, administration manuals and standard operating manuals on changes and developments on the core Banking;
- Analyse, and recommend improvements to the Information Technology service management frameworks and monitor its implementation in relation to application support as required
- Review the prepared test areas and ensure that proper testing is conducted before / releases/ upgrades are applied on production; and the proper change and release management procedures are followed in deploying releases/upgrades on production.
- Perform duties as assinged by its immediate and second Level supervisor”
About You
Minimum qualification and work experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information System, Information Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
- with 7/5 years of experience respectively of which 2 years as Supervisory position in software development or related areas.
