Project Overview
The USAID-funded DRM Activity, in partnership with RTI International, aims to enhance disaster risk management capabilities across Ethiopia. This project will support DRM planning, improve coordination, and implement anticipatory measures to minimize the impacts of crises. The initiative focuses on fostering gender inclusivity, engaging private sector involvement, and strengthening DRM institutions to support Ethiopia’s Disaster Risk Management Policy.
Role Summary
As the M&E Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation of the Activity Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Plan (AMELP). You will support ERCS’s Somali DRM Team and local partners in data collection, reporting, and learning activities to ensure adaptive management and efficient project results. Additionally, you will help build the M&E capacity of local partners and use Geographic Information System (GIS) tools for tracking progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement project M&E plans based on the logical and results frameworks.
- Collect and analyze quarterly and annual performance data.
- Ensure quality control for all project data.
- Support regular data quality assessments and site monitoring.
- Maintain updated Performance Indicator Tracking Table (PITT) and Activity Implementation Tracker.
- Provide technical M&E support to local partners and ensure regular training.
- Lead beneficiary feedback surveys and data analysis.
- Draft M&E reports, including quarterly and annual performance summaries.
- Engage with other regional M&E coordinators to share good practices.
- Travel within Ethiopia as required to support project activities.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s in Economics, Management, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years (with Bachelor’s) or 10+ years (with Master’s) in M&E roles, ideally in international organizations.
- Skills: Proficiency in M&E methodologies, research applications (SPSS, ODK, Kobo), and database management.
- Languages: Proficiency in English, Amharic, and Somali.
- Other: Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills; ability to work in challenging environments.
