Job Summary

Duties and responsibilities

Primary responsibilities of External Relations:

Government Relations

International Relations

Accessibility and Inclusivity

  • Ensure that all aspects of the electoral process are accessible and inclusive, including polling stations, voter registration, and voter information materials.

Consultation and Collaboration

  • Creating consultative and collaboration forums with civil society organizations and women’s and marginalized groups’ representatives.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Media and Communication

Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of CVE Department, the CVE Campaign Expert will support the dissemination of NEBE’s civic and voter education strategy and supporting the implementation of a Civic and Voter Education programs. Her/his responsibilities include day to day assistance with production and dissemination of Civic and Voter education materials and expected to gain a thorough understanding of NEBE’s values and programs; and promote them through effective communications, awareness, and public outreach endeavors.

  • Assist in execution of public outreach plans to reach audiences through targeted channels;
  • Provide support in customizing Civic and Voter Education activities in regional branches;

This role involves the development and implementation of M&E plans, the establishment of indicators and indicator handbooks, support for evidence-based planning, target analysis, and regular reporting. Duties and responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities of the Monitoring and Evaluation Expert:

  • Technical Support: Provide quality technical support to the Head of PMEL and other NEBE departments in planning, programming, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
  • M&E Plan Development: Assist in developing an M&E plan for the sector, including the establishment of indicators and an indicator handbook to support the M&E plan’s implementation.

  • Risk and Issue Matrices: Develop plans and monitor NEBE’s Risks and Issues matrices according to international standards.
  • Internal Monitoring System: Develop and refine the internal monitoring system to gather results-based progress data and input from primary sources within NEBE and third-party sources.
  • Results Resources Framework: Review NEBE’s Results Resources Framework, focusing on electoral-related indicators.

Job Summary

The function of the Election Dispute Resolution (EDR) Expert is to assist the NEBE in the reception and management of electoral complaints loaded against it. This role involves in-depth understanding of conflict resolution techniques and legal expertise The Expert plays a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of elections and managing legal cases effectively.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of cases where NEBE is the adjudicating body and perform legal duties, such as receiving complaints, notification, collection of evidence, analysis of the issues and preparation of hearings
  • Compile and review electoral complaints lodged against the NEBE
  • Coordinate with plaintiffs and witnesses on the hearing of complaints, and organize and provide recommendations to the Management Board,based on analysis
  • Liaise with regional and constituency offices of NEBE on the submission and defense of election complaints and appeals where NEBE is a respondent
  • Conduct legal analysis, research and develop recommendation on dispute resolution mechanisms and case management systems for electoral disputes
  • Develop reports on electoral cases based on analysis and the decisions issued at investigative and hearing stages
  • Support the development of effective complaint handling system and process
  • Use insight and expertise to develop lessons learned and best practices on effective electoral complaint resolution mechanisms
  • Represents NEBE when party to a suit in courts on electoral and other legal affairs.
  • Assist in the establishment of grievance hearing committees on different election administration levels.
  • Assist in the roll out of electoral trainings at NEBE HQ, regional levels, and field offices.
  • Provide technical assistance to grievance hearing committee.
  • Follow up and liaise with relevant bodies on electoral criminal cases
  • Provide input on relevant directives and the legal framework on election dispute resolution.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of EDR processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and best practices in dispute resolution, integrating new techniques into the EDR process.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

  • LLB or LLM in Law or related fields
  • 7 years and Bachelor | 5 years and Masters

  • Strong understanding of legal principles and regulations relevant to conflict resolution.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to remain neutral, impartial, and calm in high-pressure situations.

Job Summary

The Deriver Mechanic maintain and repair vehicles, and will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality of vehicles.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
  • Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
  • Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
  • Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use
  • Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
  • Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
  • Keep logs on work and issue reports
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
  • Inspect and approve procured spare parts quality
  • Assure vehicles maintenance service quality
  • Perform work in the operation of a vehicle to assure safe transportation of clients as needed.
  • Strictly adhere to the Governmental and NEBE vehicle policies implementation.
  • Accurate upkeep of the vehicle’s maintenance log sheet ensuring user’s sign on it per maintenance
  • Ensure all required documents with the vehicle are in order and up to date regarding Vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, and necessary spare parts.

  • 3 years and Diploma| 1 year and Degree

Skill Requirements:

  • Proven experience as auto mechanic
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
  • Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
  • Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
  • Excellent physical condition
