Major Responsibility
- Psychosocial Risk Management through consultation with women and girls and other relevant community members/MHPSS providers she/he will identify PSS risk (e.g: suicide, sleeping problems, somatic manifestation for distress), he/she will contextualize and adapt group activities focusing on these signs with support of the CP-GB/officer/coordinator.
- Create awareness raising activities on this identified risks at a wider community level. Also the PSS focal point can support WGFSS facilitators and case workers on providing crisis support, supervision when PSS needs are identified within the safe space.
- Treatment of Psychosocial distress: Women and girls including GBV suvivors presenting more specific PSS needs would receive PSS individual or Group Counselling within safe spaces at confidential and safe space.
- The PSS counsellor will work in close coordination with Case Worker, Nurse and Midwifes to ensure women and girls accessing these services have access to specialized MHPSS services if required. PSS focal points will ensure referral to specialized services and will referred survivors identified on her work to Case Management Services.
- Monitor and collect data of project implementation regularly and report the progress and challenges and lessons learned to the emergency livelihood project coordinator. On top of this he/she will represent WVE in external engagement at district level.
Job Requirements
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
- BA Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology and any related Social Science fields
Required Professional Experience
- Two years of service in delivering individual and group counselling services and able to provide trainings.
- NGO experience is preferable.
- Knowledge and experinece of emmergency response is advantage
- Grass root work experience in development projects management, emergency response, especially in hardship environment.
- Experience of working in the work location is a plus
- Good knowledge about different cultural attitudes, practices and systems of social support
Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement
- Ability & willingness to travel to different hardship woredas
