The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) is seeking qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the following positions.

About ERCS
Established in 1935, the Ethiopian Red Cross Society is one of Ethiopia’s oldest and largest humanitarian organizations. The society provides essential services such as emergency response, first aid, ambulance services, family reunification, and water and sanitation support. Additionally, ERCS undertakes disaster risk reduction initiatives aimed at creating resilient communities. Its operations are organized through 12 regional offices, 34 zonal branches, and 131 district offices, along with thousands of local committees.

ERCS collaborates with the Ethiopian Government, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and other partner organizations to deliver impactful services. The society’s efforts include programs focused on food security, climate change adaptation, and institutional capacity-building.

1. Accountant

Location: Dire Dawa Branch
Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience for Master’s degree holders, and 6 years for Bachelor’s degree holders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of the local language is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural setting and willingness to travel extensively.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience with USAID or USG-funded projects is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial statement preparation.
  • Strong data analysis, critical thinking, and time management skills.

2. Admin and Finance Manager

Location: Benishangul Gumuz Regional Branch
Job Summary:
The Admin and Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the branch’s financial and administrative functions, ensuring compliance with the society’s policies and procedures, and maintaining accurate financial records. They will also supervise cash inflows and outflows, manage project funds, prepare financial statements, and ensure timely submission of financial reports.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or Management.
  • 8 years of relevant experience for Master’s degree holders, and 10 years for Bachelor’s degree holders, with at least 4 or 6 years in a managerial position, respectively.
  • Knowledge of accounting software is required.

3. Senior Resource Mobilization and Expansion Expert

Location: Addis Ababa

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with relevant departments to achieve fundraising and resource mobilization goals.
  • Conduct market research to enhance the society’s resource mobilization efforts.
  • Develop proposals for mobilizing financial and material resources, and provide support to branches for income-generating activities.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for resource mobilization initiatives.
  • Propose and implement strategies to foster partnerships and increase the society’s income.
  • Develop promotional tools, evaluate their impact, and ensure proper implementation.
  • Manage donor relationships and implement donor care strategies.
  • Support national and international fundraising programs, and ensure proper collection of donations.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, Economics, Project Management, or related fields.
  • 6 years of relevant experience for Master’s degree holders, and 8 years for Bachelor’s degree holders.
