KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Program responsibility, protocol and procedures: · Overall responsible for coordination of day to day health and Community Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) activities at assigned project site · Organize and facilitate kick of meetings, review meeting and other events to enhance ownership and sustainability · Develop joint plan with Woreda health office and Health facility representatives to strengthen integration and collaboration · Plan and supervise implementation of project activities together with MOH counterparts · Provide technical guidance to health extension workers and health workers · Coach and mentor MOH staffs working at different levels including woreda health office, health centres and health posts · Conduct training need assessment, health facility functionality and other assessments with MOH · Make sure appropriate distribution and utilization of supplies and equipment provided by SCI · Organize and facilitate trainings to health workers and health extension workers on different thematic areas · Conduct post training follow up, routine supportive supervision and joint monitoring visit · Participate on regional level integrated supportive supervision and other monitoring visits · Asses local capacity and ensure programmes are deliver results according to relevant standards, polices, and program strategy · Organize and facilitate CMAM training to HEWs and health workers · Facilitate the roll out of Family MUAC training · Provide technical support on management of acute malnutrition for health workers and HEWs · Ensure appropriate use of national guidelines for management of acute malnutrition at all levels · Support on strengthening referral linkage for CSAM management · Ensure the CMAM activities implemented timely and the CMAM budget spent as per plan · Follow procurement of CMAM equipment and supplies with Health and Nutrition Coordinator · Support the preparation, distribution and appropriate use of SBCC materials · Make sure availability of adequate CMAM supplies in health facilities supported by Save the Children. · Conduct regular field visit to provide on the job training for Health workers, HEWs and HDAs · Use standard supervision checklist to monitor and evaluate the quality of service for management of acute malnutrition · Facilitate cross-sectoral programming, particularly to promote excellent in communication and referral between different programs such as IYCF-E, CMAM, child friendly space, health, food distribution, WASH etc. · Support HEWs, health centres and WorHO on CMAM related report preparation · Make sure all activities supported by Save the children are documented per the standard at all levels - Follow up timely request, approval, procurement and distribution of the project logistics, supply and equipment
- Work collaboratively to integrate the health programme with other sectors where appropriate, particularly with WASH, FSL and Protection.
· Ensure appropriate and consistent health education is provided to the communities · Facilitate and support in the development and scheduling of outreach activities and support region wide campaigns at assigned woreda · Support woreda level microplanning · Represent SCI in health and nutrition cluster coordination to includes also RH related meetings with stakeholders · Take part in the project set-up, technical support visit, monitoring visits, surveys and evaluations · Support in the management of essential drugs and medical supplies efficiently and make sure IPLS are applied at all level - Assists in any emergency response to disease outbreaks
· With the support of MEAL team ensure project performance is tracked and quality standards adhered to · Coordinate any awareness raising campaigns/behaviour change communication in the community in coordination with MOH - Prepare weekly and monthly movement plan and reports and contribute for timely donor report
- Identify, document and share success stories, best practices and case stories to enhance learning
- Perform other activities assigned by immediate supervisor
Monitoring and reporting · Regularly update of databases and ensure quality checking at site · Prepare daily/monthly reports on activities and any necessary reports as requested · Updates follow-up information of enrolled cases from regular household visits and share with technical officers Advocacy and communication: · Facilitate cross-sectoral programming, particularly to promote communication and referral, health, education and CP programming · Liaise with other humanitarian actors, partners and community groups to maximize collaboration and ensure proper coordination of activities. |
