About the Ethiopian Red Cross Society
The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) was established in 1935 and is one of the oldest and largest humanitarian organizations in Ethiopia. ERCS provides services to communities affected by natural and manmade disasters through the provision of emergency responses, ambulance and first aid, family reunification, essential drugs, water and sanitation, and other humanitarian services. ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. Currently the ERCS has a structure consisting of 12 Regional Offices, 34 Zonal Branches and 131 District/Woreda Branches, 599 Woreda Red Cross Committee and 5871 Kebele Red Cross committees.
ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs relating to food security, climate change adaptation, livelihood diversification, and institutional capacity building interventions, with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. ERCS works in partnership with the Ethiopian Government, International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), partnering National Societies, members, volunteers and the communities we serve.
Details of the vacant position
Work Unit :– Humanitarian Diplomacy and Communication Service
Reports to:- Director, Humanitarian Diplomacy and Communication Service
Terms of employment: – Contract for one year
Salary:- As per the organization salary scale
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, storyboard and execute video projects from start to finish
- Edit raw footage into compelling and visually appealing video that align with the organizations objectives.
- Create motion graphics, animations and visually appealing videos content.
- Design graphics and layouts for print and digital materials such as brochures, posters, banners and newsletters.
- Collaborate with the commination team to develop creative concepts and strategies for visual content.
- Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all visual materials.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practice in video editing ,motions graphics and graphics design
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
About You
Qualification
- Bachler degree in Film production ,graphics Design ,multimedia or related field
- Proven work experience minimum 4 year experience in video editing, motion graphics and graphics design .preferably in a non-profit or humanitarian organization.
Other skills
- Proficiency in Video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or any other skill
- Strong skills in motion graphics and animation using software like Adobe After Effects.
- Proficiency in graphics design software such as Adobe Photoshop ,Illustrator, or in design
- Excellent understanding of visual storytelling , composition and typography.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of team and willing to take creative direction
